BLACK GIRL MAGIC EXISTS IN OGBOMOSO

A retrospective photo gallery by an emerging photographer.

SUZAN writes…

In a world where everything is super fast paced and the younger generation seems to be forgetting the beauty in our roots, there are voices emerging from different parts of the world using different tools and their talents to create awareness and to show the world that there are still those who remember and value the beauty in Africa.
The movement has been seen all over social media and whether it is African or African-American, the race to showcase the beauty in our skin, in our culture and in our togetherness is on and Nigeria is not left behind.

Working with talented creatives is what I live for, I love to see culture and beauty showcased in Africans.

Tobiloba Oluwarotimi – LOBA – is an emerging photographer who relentlessly believes in creating art with his camera. He is a student of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology who is passionate about photography, creating a world with his lens.

His images showcase the beauty in African culture; the body paint, the headwraps, the golden black skin of African ladies and their hair that defies gravity.

With these pictures below with yours truly included in little doses (LOL), I must say we all should learn to appreciate what we have and promote our features in every way we can. It is essential to just sit back and absorb the golden riches in old taste.

Just like Loba said, “I love black girl magic”.

PS: These are the handiwork of young LAUTECH students in Ogbomoso. From little places comes great things. Don’t you think?

It gets better in Black and white…
